Shop Rate and Information

Our shop labor rate is $145 per hour, but we are as fair as we could possibly be with how many hours we charge out for a job. If the job takes longer than expected, and is way over the estimate, we do our best to work with you on what’s fair for both parties. Our estimates are just that exactly, estimates. It is very difficult to get within $100 of what it will cost to work on one of these older vehicles, as they have been worked on by multiple people, they are very very old, and the he parts can sometimes take lots of fenesse to install correctly. There a lot of challenges associated with working on these older vehicles, and a lot of issues or information is unknown to us until we really start getting into working on the vehicle. That being said, anytime we come up on a situation that we feel the customer should know about, any problems or possible additional posts or costs, we reach out and go over it with you together before moving further.

At Muscle Car Therapy, our labor rate reflects the level of skill, experience, equipment, and protection required to properly work on classic, custom, and high-performance vehicles.Classic and muscle cars are not like modern production vehicles. These cars require experienced technicians who understand:

• Older systems and components
• Custom fabrication and modifications
• Performance drivetrains
• Carbureted and EFI systems
• Electrical troubleshooting
• Suspension geometry and safety
• Proper repair techniques for rare and valuable vehicles

The reality is: qualified technicians capable of safely and effectively working on these vehicles are highly skilled professionals — and those skills come at a premium.

Our hourly rate is not just for turning wrenches. It supports the systems, tools, and protections necessary to provide high-quality work and protect your investment.

We invest heavily in:

• Specialty tools and diagnostic equipment
• Fabrication equipment
• Vehicle lifts and safety systems
• Welding and suspension equipment
• Shop maintenance and cleanliness
• Continued training and technical knowledge

Proper equipment allows us to complete repairs safely, accurately, and efficiently.

We understand the value of the vehicles entrusted to us, and we take security seriously.That’s why we spend time every morning pulling cars out of the shop, and every afternoon pulling them back in, so they’re  protected by the alarm and camera systems.

So part of your car being here also involves:

• No customer vehicles are left outside overnight
• Vehicles are brought inside every evening
• Our facility is protected by security cameras
• The shop is monitored by alarm systems
• Vehicles remain under camera surveillance while onsite

We also pay staff to move and secure vehicles daily to ensure your car is protected when not actively being worked on.

We strive for every car to be in better shape when it leaves, and when it gets here both aesthetically and mechanically. Sometimes that cost a lot of time to make sure every single car is taken care of, and we can hold about 28. So it does take a good bit of time and effort to maintain and preserve these vehicles.
